Think about any subject in the world – there is most likely a magazine about it. When the subject is as popular as alternative and complimentary medicines, then there are going to be a lot of magazines about. One of the most popular and most respected is The Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine.

A Leading Read

The Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine is published by MaryAnn Liebert, Inc. which publishes many respected journals about health and medicine. In addition to The Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine, they also publish Genetic Engineering News (GEN), Journal of Women’s Health and Human Gene Therapy.

The Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine is a serious medical journal covering the latest in medical research, theories and reports in the fields of interest to and relating to alternative and complimentary medical fields. It is read by professionals in the field as well as laypeople interested in better understanding their health. The Journal of Alternative and Complimentary Medicine publishes articles on acupuncture, hypnotherapy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, yoga, nutritional therapy and many more.

The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine is written by health professionals and freelance writers. Before you think of submitting any article, be sure to thoroughly research, double-check your facts and cite your sources with footnotes. This is a publication that prides itself on its accuracy. Unless you have been a professional medical writer for a few years, forget about submitting here. This should also be reassuring news to any readers, that they don’t just let any snazzy article in their pages.

Subscription Information

The Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine is available in print or an online version. A computer subscription is $99. The print and online package for an individual is (brace yourself) $263 for one year if you live in America. If you live outside of America, then it’s $285 (US dollars) per year. You better be darn sure you want this magazine. Also, if you have anything to do with the medical profession, from making documentaries to medical writing as well as holding an M.D., check with your accountant to see if you can write the cost of the subscription off as business expenses.

There are also different rates for professionals and associations who subscribe. The rates are double than for the personal rates.

The magazine does accept advertising, which does not defray any of the production costs, apparently.
